Mission :

The mission of the Geotechnical Education Program is to provide neccessary tools for students to gain an understanding of the fundamentals of geotechnical engineering, to provide a learning environment which encourages discovery and advancement for the betterment of the students and to produce nationally and globally competitive graduates in this area. Geotechnical Division offers two basic courses, CE 363 which covers the basic principles of soil mechanics and CE366, which provides the basic principles of subsoil explorations, shallow and deep foundation design. The program also offers elective and graduate level courses in environmental geotechnics, earth structures, ground improvement, soil dynamics and geotechnical earthquake engineering, geosynthetics, finite element applications to geomechanics.
